Overview
An adjunct professor of entertainment software engineering, a doctor of science in software engineering and a non-fiction author currently working in higher education. Background on qualitative studies on game development and game industry, software testing and test process development from the viewpoint of process organization. Prior to focusing on the software engineering aspects, worked actively on fields such as computer science education, teaching applications and blended learning. Adj. Prof. Kasurinen is also the third person in the history of the LUT to be awarded the LTKY Teaching Award twice.

Research interests
Current research interests include but are not restricted to game industry, game development, game technologies, software processes, software production methods and testing strategies. Additionally, personal interest and active member of research community in the earlier research topics like distance learning, user behavior analysis and computer science education.

Besides academia
Besides academia, Jussi Kasurinen is a board member Finnish Association for Computer Science, TEK-representative from Eastern Finland vote district, vice-board member of TEK board, and a member of Finnish Software Measurement Association (FiSMA). Dr. Kasurinen has also written several books related to computer science and software engineering, published both in Finnish and English. Kasurinen is also involved in municipality level politics, and was the latest chairman of the student benefits and grants board at the city of Lappeenranta.
